Embarking on the journey of a lifetime, Kay and I, proud baby boomers, have embraced a post-parenting chapter defined by our shared love for exploration. Our primary quest? To traverse the globe in pursuit of penguin encounters, striving to witness these captivating creatures in their natural habitats. A goal that has seen us marvel at 11 of the 18 known penguin species, and we eagerly anticipate continuing this odyssey, captivated by the allure of these fascinating birds.
In addition to our feathered friends, our travel repertoire extends to an array of exciting ventures and experiences. From scouring travel deals and venturing on solo expeditions to indulging in last-minute getaways and delving into the historical riches of various sites, our journey is a tapestry woven with diverse threads of exploration. We revel in cruise holidays, embrace the camaraderie of group tours, and glean insights from travel tips and hacks garnered through years of wandering the globe.
Our travel saga also encompasses practicalities such as travel insurance, adept hotel booking, and the thrill of securing discount flights. However, our adventures don't stop there. Our second major goal, equally monumental, revolves around visiting all seven continents, a milestone accomplished as of September 11, 2023. Crossing both the Arctic and Antarctic Circles multiple times, we've taken the icy plunge at these extreme latitudes, carving out memories that linger like frosty imprints.
With passports stamped by 45 countries and three more eagerly anticipated in March 2024, our journey is a testament to the richness of human and geographic diversity.
